About the Artist

My name is Lynne Rennie. I’m a graphic designer and educator based in Calgary. I’ve spent over 30 years working in design, branding, and packaging, but a lot of my thinking happens outside of work; like around the dinner table, on walks with the dog, or contemplating the small details of everyday life.

I’m drawn to systems and how meaning shows up in ordinary things. The objects we keep, the phrases we repeat, the habits we don’t question. That curiosity carries into my teaching and my own work, including Drawn to Canada, where I explore our national identity through drawings and short essays.

I have gathered a few degrees (in English Literature, Fine Art, Communication Design, and Branding), live in a busy house (with a husband, a mother of three humans, four dogs, and a rabbit), and have a tendency to notice things that maybe others overlook. It all feeds the same primal instinct for me: pay attention, make sense, and create something meaningful for yourself and others.
