Postcard - Bagged Milk

Bagged milk is a uniquely Canadian quirk that sparks both pride and confusion. Common in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes, milk is sold in 1.33-litre plastic pouches, bundled in threes, and poured from a reusable pitcher. The format became popular in the 1970s during Canada’s switch to the metric system, as plastic bags offered a cheap and practical way to move from quarts to litres.
