Postcard - Eh

Eh is a one-syllable wonder. It’s an interjection, a question, and sometimes a punchline. Politely assertive, humbly distinct, it trails sentences like a friendly tail. It softens commands, invites agreement, checks understanding. “Nice day, eh?” can be a statement, a question, or a small plea for connection, or all 3 at once. Often mocked outside the country, “eh” remains a clear marker of Canadian identity.
