Postcard - Sorry

In Canada, we say Sorry when we bump into someone. When they bump into us. When we interrupt, or when something might possibly have caused mild inconvenience.
It’s instinctive. But it’s not weakness, it’s social intelligence. Because beneath that courtesy is steely resolve. Give us a reason, and “sorry” becomes the prelude to a more assertive posture: elbows up, no-nonsense, game face on. Sorry! Not sorry.
