“Good day, eh.” Bob and Doug McKenzie — two flannel-clad, beer-loving hosers — began as a parody of Canadian stereotypes on SCTV. Created by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, the characters pushed every familiar trope to its limit. Their improvised “Great White North” segments revolved around snow, beer, back bacon, and a steady stream of “eh.” Even their sing-song theme — “Coo loo coo coo, coo coo coo coo” — parodied the music from Hinterland Who's Who.
