Yeah, no, for sure is a uniquely Canadian phrase that captures the country’s conversational style: friendly, indirect, and polite. It means “absolutely,” but with a soft touch. “Yeah” agrees, “no” softens, and “for sure” confirms. It’s vague and clear at once, like saying “sorry” when someone else bumps into you. Only in Canada, eh?
